In its strategic plan it has put the department achieve the following objectives:
- Providing proper educational environment through highly qualified professors, scientists and technicians.
- Preparing advanced curriculum to coincide with the modern education methods.
- Develop higher education programs including PhD and activate diploma and scholarship programs.
- Finding solution for health problems in Saudi Arabia by improving our research and finding ways to support it financially, putting plan for priorities and attracting qualified and experienced scientists and staff.
- Offering distinct services for our community and health sector which include:
- Supporting the unit of medication measurement.
- Establishing toxicology center.
- Establishing quality control center for pharmaceutical products and bioequivalence.
- Developing programs for clinical trials.
- Starting continuing medical education program.
- Activating multidisciplinary communication through regular lectures, contacts with local media and pharmaceutical companies as well as through making cooperation agreements with pharmacology departments worldwide.
