About the Department
Pediatrics is one of the modern medical branches that is concerned with health care for children of all ages. Therefore, pediatrics may specialize in studying the psychological and physical development of the child, and it include treating various diseases and disabilities of children, and providing all means of medical and health care, whether they are newborns or From childhood until adolescence by specialized consultants, qualified specialists and trainees in the health field.
The Department of Pediatrics began its activities within the framework of the Department of Internal Medicine until it became an independent department in 1398 AH - 1978 AD. The departement expansion was steady over the past 4 decades. We have over 14 subspecialities treating various disorders in the most updated and robust clinical and academic methods. The Depatrmtnet provides 9 post- graduate programs, training variuous trainees in general and subspecialites in Pediatrics. complete From outpatients and inpatients to advanced critial care including PICU and NICU.

Vision
The Department of Pediatrics is the leader in providing the best services in treating children hospitalized in addition to outpatient clinics.
The Department also prepares the necessary courses for training medical students and specialties, distinguished doctors and postgraduate students in
the specialties of the famous Arab and British Council for Medical Specialties. Faculty members, consultants, clinical fellows and specialists also prepare research in the field of child health in cooperation with other academic departments. The department participates in teaching fifth-year medical students, internship doctors, and postgraduate students, with the aim of training in discussing pathological cases, arriving at a diagnosis and describing a treatment for them, and acquiring clinical skill and the ability to interpret. Pathological phenomena and laboratory tests and extracting the correct diagnosis from them.
